A few weeks ago we featured a story about the success of students from the Zagreb Faculty of Design whose poster was selected among finalists of the competition organized by the world umbrella association of industrial designers – Icsid (International Council of Societies of Industrial Design), which is a part of the International Design Alliance (IDA), a global professional association.
The results of the competition were published in early June and Ivan Orin Vrkaš and Bojan Krištofić, young Croatian designers, were proclaimed winners. The president of the jury of judges, otherwise the executive director of Australian International Design Awards, pointed out that after thousands of votes cast in the two-week online voting period, the young Croats won recognition as the undisputed public favorites. He also stated that the winning design has an incredible amount of thought, creativity and work invested in it.
As a reminder of the annual celebration of the globally recognized World Industrial Design Day which is celebrated on June 29, the ICSID encourages the organization of numerous events related to the field of industrial design in countries with local professional ICSID associations; thus promoting the profession while educating the public, students and clients. The aforementioned competition for designing the promotional poster for the World Industrial Design Day was launched two years ago, and this year more than one hundred teams of designers participated from around the world.
