The European Commission in collaboration with the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, in addition to the six contenders for the grand prix which we featured here, published their shortlist, i.e. 45 selected projects that are set to be presented in the official award catalogue as well as at the exhibition in Barcelona. Just as a reminder, these projects have been selected among 343 projects from 33 European states, proposed to compete for awards.
Among the 45 most successful projects built on European soil in the past two years are two Croatian realizations, the Katarina Frankopan Kindergarten on the Island of Krk by the Randić Turato Office and the Dance Center by the Zagreb Studio 3LHD.

*RANDIĆ TURATO – Katarina Frankopan Kindergarten

A series of realizations that we featured on the pogledaj.to website are among those included in the list of 45 best recent European projects. Among the selected are the Finnish Kuokkala Church by the Lassila Hirvilammni Architects Studio, the theater building in Carlow by the Teryy Pawson Architects Studio, the Paula Rego House of Stories by Eduardo Souto de Moure, the Theater and Congress Hall by the Macanoo Architects in Ávilia, Spain, the Office in the Woods by the Selgascano Office, and others.
The Mies van der Rohe Award has been granted since 1988, and was launched as an initiative by the European Commission in collaboration with the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, with the primary goal of recognizing and emphasizing excellence in the field of architecture as well as bringing attention to new professional talent.
