Fashion.hr or “the biggest fashion concept in Croatia” has recently unveiled its latest project of revitalizing the Croatian fashion operation: THE FASHION.HR INDUSTRY.
At a time when factories are drawing its last gasps, the Croatian textile industry is begging for reconstruction, and workers are on strike on behalf of their begrudged rights and unpaid wages, the biggest fashion concept in the region FASHION.HR is offering a viable solution to this pressing issue of Croatian production entitled: FASHION.HR INDUSTRY
The project, which aims to revive the industry and link it with Croatian designers gathered its most important participants at the Zagreb Fair on January 28th: Vinko Filipic, FASHION.HR Concept’s director and the mastermind behind this entire project, Vesna Trnokop Tanta,Vice-President of Commerce, European Integrations and EU Matters within the Croatian Chamber of Economy, and Jelena Pavicic Vukicevic, Deputy Mayor of the City of Zagreb, who presented the project. They were joined by the project holders themselves – representatives of factories along with Croatian designers.

We proudly present the entire Q & A about this praiseworthy Project straight from Fashion.hr’s web pages.
What is FASHION.HR INDUSTRY?
The FASHION.HR INDUSTRY Project unites ambition, innovation and represents a radical step for the local fashion scene that has so far relied solely on various ‘fashion weeks’ without any significant or long-term links with the Croatian textile, footwear or leather industries. In nine carefully drafted fashion seasons the FASHION.HR Concept has established itself as the most productive and successful fashion platform in the country that includes the DOVE FASHION.HR Fashion Week, the FASHION.HR style community – the most read fashion site in the region, the PRIVATE SALE distribution channel and the specialized PR agency RED.
Ever since its inception FASHION.HR Concept’s primary goal has been exclusive promotion of the Croatian fashion design in accordance with precisely defined global standards. Preparations for the project whose mission is to revitalize and define the industrial fashion scene in Croatia have been carried out for years now, as a culmination of the Concept’s basic idea.

With the Croatian Chamber of Economy’s endorsement, the FASHION.HR Concept founded FASHION.HR INDUSTRY – which will serve as the main link and vital initiator of a long-term and unique collaboration between renowned Croatian designers and textile factories, as well as the leather, footwear and watch industries.
Zoran Mrvoš, Ivica Klarić, Igor Galaš, Robert Sever, Juraj Zigman, and Ana Maria Ricov, all successful designers who have, due to their quality work, enjoyed the attention of their target audiences and the media for years now, are set to become pioneers in the revival of the industry thanks to exclusive collaborations with industry giants such as: RIO Riječka industrija odjeće Ltd. (The Rijeka Clothing Industry), MK Arena Ltd. Pula, San Peter Ltd. Ludberg, Bambi Ltd. Varaždin, and Marli Ltd. Zagreb.
Appearing under the FASHION.HR INDUSTRY common denominator:
Robert Sever will take over as creative director of a special line of accessories within the House of SAN PETER
Zoran Mrvoš will take over as chief designer of a special women’s prêt-à-porter line within the House of RIO RIJEKA.
Ivica Klarić is set to take over as chief designer of a special men’s prêt-à-porter line within the House of RIO RIJEKA
Igor Galaš is set to take over as chief designer of a special prêt-à-porter line within the House of MK ARENA
Juraj Zigman and Ana Maria Ricov are set to take on the role of major designers for a special line of shoes and clothing within the House of BAMBI
Juraj Zigman will take over as chief designer for a special line of watches within the MARLI Company
Prêt-à-porter collections and specific fashion lines under the brand FASHION.HR INDUSTRY Project will be presented twice a year at the leading Croatian fashion event: the DOVE FASHION.HR – the spring-summer and autumn-winter lines.

In view of the project’s launch, the FASHION.HR concept’s director and mastermind of the whole FASHION.HR INDUSTRY Project, Vinko Filipić said: “The public has been a witness for seasons on end how the media growth and interest in various local fashion projects expands while at the same time the Croatian textile industry has been on the decline. This inconsistency, which results in a “theater of the absurd” in a country where fashion is jumping out of every box, and many factories are going bankrupt has forced us to make a change and with the support of state institutions set something up that we will be proud to call “the Croatian fashion industry.”
From its very beginnings, the FASHION.HR Concept is the only one in this country that has been stubbornly persistent in its vision and we are extremely happy at having at long last succeeded in connecting state institutions, established designers and textile giants in a concrete project. I can justifiably state that we have launched the most important process of the Croatian fashion scene.”
Filipić continues: “Our factories have all the necessary human and technical resources, while our talented designers are chronically lacking those very same elements. In this way the famous “Croatian Fashion Six” will breathe new life into the Croatian textiles and at long last start a full-fledged prêt-à-porter revolution under their creative leadership. Fashion should not and cannot be dependent on a one-fashion-event-to-the-next basis and it’s high time to set clear boundaries and goals not only for today’s active fashion generation but also for the sake of young up-and-coming talents.”

A special instrument for further establishing the Croatian fashion scene and interaction between fashion designers and the general public will be an innovative fashion fair, functioning under the same name, FASHION.HR INDUSTRY that will annually be held parallel with the DOVE FASHION.HR collections inspired by international fashion fairs such as the German and Spanish Bread&Butter and the French Tranoi, The Box and Atmospheres.
The first FASHION.HR INDUSTRY fashion fair is set to be held from March 11th to the 13th at the Zagreb Fair in the 5th Pavilion.
