In mid-June, or more precisely, on June 11th 2011, the second edition of Design Day – the most exciting design day in the region is set to take place. Last year’s D-Day, which we covered here, established itself as a great project for promoting young designing forces from the region, thus the second edition was a logical sequence of events. This year’s change in the project’s concept is shifting the age range for potential contestants from 30 to 35 years of age.
The venue where the second edition of D-Day is set to take place is the old Zagreb meatpacking district. Read on for further information about the event or click here and get the newest updates straight from the horse’s mouth at the manifestation’s official website.

A little time and small formats multiplied by a slew of great ideas yet again serve as the impetus for the most exciting day in the region.
In the second edition of D-Day we’re taking over the premises in and around the old meatpacking district and are set to fill it up for the day with the best production of young designers up to 35 years of age. We’re set to present everything a designer mind can think of, wants and has to share with others: concepts, prototypes, self-initiated or made-to-order works, etc. Furthermore, just to note that both realized and unrealized projects will be treated equally.
As previously, restrictions should be turned into advantages – start thinking about the presentation format as the space limit is 5m2 per individual. This year, in addition to the design fair we’re also presenting an intensive program of presentations, showings, workshops, music and other events. A designer never sleeps, and their day is flexible, so get ready to participate, have a look-see, and above all have fun and mingle at D-Day open till 6:00 PM Sunday June 12th 2011.
