Last night in Split, as we announced here, the Annual Exhibition of Realizations by Croatian Architects in 2010 was opened and the Croatian Architects’ Association (CAA) Awards were conferred to the most successful original works realized in 2010, both in Croatia and worldwide.
In addition to the already announced recognitions, the “Viktor Kovačić Lifetime Achievement Award” as the highest-ranking recognition for one’s entire life and work opus, which was rightly earned by and awarded to the architect Edo Šmidihen and the “Neven Šegvić” Award, for most successful published, critical and theoretical work in the field of architecture and urban planning in 2010, which went to Tomislav Premerl for the entirety of his scientific and research work in the field of architecture and urban planning, the much awaited Kovačić, Galić i Bernardi Awards were also conferred.
The annual “Viktor Kovačić” Award for most successful architectural realization in 2010, as was the case last year, wasn’t won by just one project realization, but two. The award winners were Mario Perossa, with his City Sports Hall in Novigrad which we featured here, along with Igor Franić for the realization of the long-awaited Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, further details will be available this weekend on pogledaj.to.
