The Brazilian photographer Bruno Cals is the author of ”Horizontes”, a series of photos that are currently being exhibited at the 1500 Gallery in New York. The photos depict an interesting series of dramatic architectural works where the author plays with perceptions of proportion and perspective, capturing building facades which look like original urban landscapes in the photos. The photos captured in Sao Paolo, Buenos Aires and Tokyo question two-dimensionality and skewed reality.
Bruno Cals’ photography portfolio boasts a multitude of various works, from fashion editorials and overviews of intriguing Brazilian atmospheres, via portraits, to professional marketing industry work. A born Carioca, he worked in Europe for a number of years. He introduces himself through the “Horizontes” exhibition as one of seventeen up-and-coming yet eminent photographers who are displaying their work in the 1500 Gallery, the first art gallery in the world to specialize in exhibiting the Brazilian photography scene.
