It’s well-known fact that LEGO® blocks can be used to build a lot more than a polygon for children’s games . While LEGO George aided by the most up-to-date technology roams the world, the Zadar duo Marta Dušević and Želimir Periš took indigenous LEGO® constructions of historical structures for a walk through Zadar, photographing them at real locations.

In addition to convincingly converting Zadar’s symbols into the popular blocks with Želimir’s deft hands and immortalizing them with Martina’s photographic skills, their idea didn’t stop just at LEGO-realistic postcards of the three-thousand-year old city.

You can find the entire LEGO® photo comic strip here, as Želimir says: “…I view Zadar’s history through the five-century-old stones engraved in the city gates in Foša.” Divided into ten episodes, the comic strip is published once a week. Nine out of ten have already been published, thus the virtual LEGO® stroll through Zadar is truly on par with the pleasures that comic strip lovers derive from just turning the pages.

Click by click, we got totally submerged in this comic strip, “devouring” over 900 photos in one sitting a huge smile never once leaving our faces.
Želimir’s LEGO® Zadar is a great idea backed up by an even better excellent realization. Hooked on the series to the max, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this mini-team raise enough funds to continue to fascinate us with their new LEGO® adventures the Croatian way.
And who knows, maybe even George wanders in from New York to take a look at what’s being built in Zadar.
