Look At That Planner!
Pogledaj.to aka Look@That is releasing a tender for designers and all those who deem themselves such, to create the design and visual layout for the 2011 Pogledaj.to Planner. Alas, only Croatian citizens are eligible for submitting their application, but feel free to read on and catch a glimpse of what we’re planning and doing here in our part of the world!
We’re releasing a Pogledaj.to call for participants to create a visual identity for the Look@That Planner powered by Pogledaj.to. The winning works will have a limited edition print run and will be available exclusively through the Pogledaj.to website just a few weeks shy of the New Year.
One of the main objectives of the Pogledaj.to website is the promotion of the Croatian creative scene, thus potential participants are required to come up with fresh ideas, a visual level of recognition and uniqueness, and above all maximum creativity and originality. The goal of the tender is the selection and conceptual production of the most successful and most interesting solutions for the Planner powered by Pogledaj.to as well as taking this opportunity to support and promote the Croatian designing and art scene through presenting and realizing Croatia’s (young) designers’ creative ideas.
1. Task
Tender participants are required to create the concept and design for the Planner powered by Pogledaj.to which will have a limited edition print run.
The competitors’ task is to formulate and create the following Planner sections:
a) Outer (hard)cover
b) Inner cover
c) Planner’s first page
d) Planner’s last page
e) A Calendar (up to two pages)
f) A “Pal Page” (the two central pages aka the “centerfold”)
g) 5 – 10 especially designed sheets inserted into the Planner in accordance with the author’s concept
h) All sheets * (basic unified page within the Planner)
*in creating above pages a) – g) authors may use colors, while only one color is allowed for the unified page specified under h).
2. Form
The specified dimensions for the Planner powered by Pogledaj.to are 16.5 cm x 16.5 cm. All other technical details in view of the planner production (type, weight, Planner’s sheet and cover thickness, final number of unified sheets, addition of text accessories and logo application) will be decided on by the organizers themselves, in agreement with the selected authors.
3. Content
The author’s solution must consist of the following:
1) PDF or AI files which contain all abovementioned graphic items.
2) Text with brief concept description in Word file.
3) Print-out of application form in an unmarked closed envelope.
It is necessary to submit the work on a CD containing all required items.
Sent or brought in works are NOT returned. Any sort of sign or the team’s or author’s name MUST NOT be visible on the work.
4. Mandatory Designing Equipment
It is necessary to include the Pogledaj.to logo on all pages of the Planner powered by Pogledaj.to, except on the outer and inner covers (a and b), where the same aren’t preconditioned. The logo position and dimensions aren’t specified, but it is mandatory they be legible and visible.
The organizer reserves the right of adding the Pogledaj.to logo as well as eventual other additions on any given Planner powered by Pogledaj.to page.

*The organizers reserve the right of changing panel members without prior notifying contestants.
6. Prizes
The expert Panel of Judges will directly select (an author’s or group of authors’) best solution which will be produced as well as pick out five remaining works, runners-up for the Planner powered by Pogledaj.to design solutions as decided by the panel’s standards.
The aforementioned five solutions will be published on Pogledaj.to’s web pages where the website’s readers will by casting online votes directly select the second-placed design for the Planner powered by Pogledaj.to which will hence proceed to be realized.
First Prize (judges’ choice): 2000 HRK (approximately 300 EUR; 350 USD; 200 GBP)
Second Prize (readers’ choice): 1500 HRK (approximately 220 EUR; 260 USD; 150 GBP)
7. Participation
All citizens of the Republic of Croatia of age can participate. The tender is anonymous.
Every participant, author or team has the right to submit an unlimited number of works.
Even though professional orientation and expertise are recommended, they are not necessary.
By submitting their work, authors implicitly accept the tender’s terms and conditions.
All participating authors implicitly accept publishing and presentation of their work and name(s) on Pogledaj.to’s web pages.
The organizers reserve the right for future use, in agreement with the designer, of any given non-prize-winning solution in the future.
Prize-winning works become the property of the website. All other works may use the final product for their own promotion, but may not produce them if they have visible signs of the Pogledaj.to website.
The author is obligated to keep his work under wraps until the results are published.
8. Deadlines:
The tender is open from the release date on the Pogledaj.to’s website, namely, from November 11, 2010.
The final deadline for submitting works is December 1, 2010 at 5:00 PM
Results are out on December 6th, 2010 on Pogledaj.to’s website
Online voting on Pogledaj.to’s web pages will commence on December 6th, 2010 at 5:00 PM for selection of the first runner-up
Voting will end on December 10th 2010 at 11:59 PM
