The opening ceremony of the Annual Exhibition of Realizations by Croatian Architects in 2010 will be held within the framework of the 3rd Congress of Croatian Architects, set to be held November 25th-27th in the Split Milesi Palace. The Croatian Architects’ Association (CAA) will confer their awards for the most successful Croatian architects realizations in 2010 both home and abroad. The exhibition opening ceremony and awards ceremony are anticipated for November 25th at 8:00 PM.
At the Annual Exhibition of Realizations by Croatian Architects in 2010 Croatian architects submitted a total of 88 original accomplished realizations in the past year, where 150 associates participated. The CAA has been organizing this Exhibition since 1984 and it’s traditionally non-selected i.e. left to self-selection of the submitting architects. A prerequisite for participation is membership in the Croatian Architects’ Association and that the realization was accomplished in the past year.
Realizations are categorized as follows: family houses, multihousing buildings, residential-office buildings, office and public buildings, reconstructions and annex buildings, interventions in public spaces and urban planning, interiors and architectural publishing.
The “VIKTOR KOVAČIĆ” Award for life’s work as the highest recognition for an entire life opus, the Croatian Architects’ Association this year confers the award to architect Edi Šmidihen from Zagreb.
The “NEVEN ŠEGVIĆ” Award for the most successful published, critical and theoretical work in the field of architecture and urban planning in 2010 goes to Tomislav Premerl for the entirety of his scientific, research and publishing work in the field of architecture and urban planning, (Most recent: Editor-in chief of Croatian Architecture in the 20th Century journal, collection of works, Central Croatian Cultural and Publishing Society)
